Times Square

Hey there Delilah, what’s it like in New York City? I’m a thousand miles away but girl tonight you look so pretty, yes you do. Times Square won’t shine as bright as you, you know it’s true. – Plain White T’s

Because I love music and especially listening to the beautiful lyrics of songs, I decided to incorporate that into my photography/travel posts, as you can see here. I’m probably going to also keep making photo collages like my Washington DC one, or just post simple pictures with small poems like in Reach. 🙂

This first one background is a picture I took in Times Square as part of my East Coast Forever road trip, and the lyrics are from Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T’s. ❤

Times Square was all that it’s really amped up to be, with neon lights everywhere, a throng of people at every corner, and strange people dressed in even stranger costumes (just don’t take pictures with them, they’ll charge you and if you refuse to pay, they get their panties in a twist; it ain’t pretty).

I found it completely mesmerizing, and the incredible commercial-ness of it all just added to the effect.

The food around there is pretty good (but overpriced obviously), especially a cute coffeeshop/cafe called Caffebene. It’s a chain but there are none around where I live. 😦 Just look at this strawberry ice parfait. *swoon*   IMG_5413

I especially love the area dedicated to Hershey’s and I really enjoyed this giant Elvis M&M.

And, the Toys R Us at Times Square? Epic. There’s a freaking Ferris wheel inside of it!!! It’s basically an amusement park. You don’t have to be a little kid to be in utter disbelief of the awesomeness of this store. IMG_5258

I’d say Times Square was a success! Although my mother over here constantly complained about the crowded disorderly quality of everything, I think it’s all part of the charm.

Any of you live in New York?

I hope ya’ll enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking and making them.
